I admit I was drawn to this book because I was intrigued that suspense author Baldacci had written a book that is middle grade than young adult and fantasy Different First I had to get into his world He creates his own language too which I admit I fell in love with I know weird but I was an English major and have a thing for clever writing He blew me away with his consistency with this new language His heroine is 14 almost 15 sessions old and has a pretty horrendous life in Wormwood Yes that s the name of the place and everyone there is a Wug Dreary Yes And there s going on here than you first expect I got sucked in and held on for the long ride It s a big book with lots of twists and turns Poor Vega Jane is put through the wringer as she tries to survive and escape from a place that seems to offer no hope for its residents Her best friend has an even worse time There s plenty of action and a budding romance You decide if you want to read the next book in what is surely a series I will definitely pick it up
